Thank you Grand County Living Mag.! This is a very deep subject to acppoarh, but one of critical importance to the futures of our systems all over the globe. There are many theories, beliefs, and ideas out there (pro and con) on recycling. I do believe that at times materials are thrown away. This is in part b/c of contamination; as Ted Wang pointed out, but it is also b/c at times the amount of materials to be recycled exceed the demand for recycled goods. So, going back to Carol Morales’ comments on our living habits, we not only should be more aware of the amount we use, but also where our products come from and how they are made. We can all increase the demands for recycled materials if we are more conscientious consumers. These are just a few thoughts. – Thank you, to everyone involved and that are pushing this forward. Thanks especially to Liz for all of her research and acting as community correspondent!My questions are can we speed the process up of getting some sort of better implementation. Ted Wang, to show our support and willingness to pay, do you all want a petition to be passed around? There is support out there, how best would you like it to be represented so that our officials know that the community members are not taking this issue lightly. We all have full time jobs as well, and can not be knocking on the doors of our officials regularly. To all, what is more expensive, paying for recycling now, or cleaning up our mess down the road? Has anyone looked into funding sources for this? I will volunteer, and pay more if need be. What can the citizens at large do to help expedite the process?Have options been explored for different funding combinations?What more needs to be done to estimate the costs of this program?How fast can the RFP’s be processed?
