Mr. Phil Hogan T.D. Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government has announced that the Review of the Producer Responsibility Initiative Model has commenced and a public consultation document has been launched to ensure the views of the public will be heard during the process.

The Department of the Environment has engaged the RPS Group to assist with the review which will include the Economic and Social Research Institute, Bio Intelligence Service (France) and Philip Lee Solicitors.

This is the first review of the Producer Responsibility Initiative Model in Ireland since the introduction of this concept. Repak will be working closely with the department and all other stakeholders in this sector to fully cooperate and ensure that the review can enable us all to build on an even more successful future for producer responsibilities in Ireland.
